4. Strategic Plan 2025-2028 (0:35)
- Superintendent Dr. Demond Means introduced Jenny Fotsch as the leader of the 2025-2028 strategic plan development. Means emphasized a three-year plan for urgency, building on the 2022-2025 plan, with measurable metrics and return on investment focus.
- Fotsch presented the process: broad engagement with 1,200 stakeholders (staff, parents, students, community) through surveys, focus groups, and sessions from February to May 2025. The plan includes mission/vision, goals, theory of action, outcomes, and measures.
- Key goals: Student Experience (eradicate inequity, eliminate disproportionality, exceed proficiency); High-Quality Staff (attract/retain diverse talent); Culture + Community (inclusive environments); Operations (efficient resource use).
- Board Discussion (21:00)
- Sarah Burzynski (1:26:38): Suggested adding emphasis on learning outcomes in goal statements, beyond instructional delivery, to highlight student learning alongside teaching practices. Fotsch noted goals focus on adult practices, with outcomes measuring success, rooted in educator effectiveness standards 2 and 3.
- Lynne Woehrle (1:26:38): Praised the plan's structure and engagement process, noting it reflects comprehensive stakeholder input and measurable metrics.
